Visa and Entry Requirements
All visitors to Singapore must meet the following entry requirements:
- A passport that is valid for at least six months
- A completed Disembarkation/Embarkation Card (D/E Card)
- A valid Singapore visa (to check whether you need a visa, see Visa Requirements)
- A Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, if applicable

Traveller Essential Information
The Singapore dollar is accepted all across the island and notes come in denominations of S$2, S$5, S$10, S$50, S$100, S$1,000 and S$10,000. Coins come in 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and S$1.
Tourists may claim a refund on the 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) paid on purchases if more than S$100 is spent at any participating shops.
Wi-Fi & Connectivity
Visitors can register for a free public Wi-Fi account with their foreign mobile numbers at any Wireless@SG hotspot. Overseas charges may apply.
Singapore has four official languages, English, Mandarin Chinese, Malay and Tamil, with the predominant use of English as a medium of instruction.
Singapore is hot and humid all year-round, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 34 degrees. Please be prepared for wet weather at any point in time, which can be torrential but usually brief.
The standard electrical current used in Singapore is 220-240 volts AC (50 cycles) and power plugs with three square prong may be used here.
Tipping is not encouraged in Singapore. A standard 10% gratuity is usually included in your bill as Service Charge, on top of the 7% GST.
Smoking is not allowed in all air-conditioned places, such as shopping malls and eateries. Designated smoking areas are available in some entertainment outlets and open-air eateries.

Singapore's tap water is potable. Bottled water can also be found at convenience stores across the island.
